چکیده

Let I be an interval. I need not be compact or bounded. Let f : I → I be a continuous map, and (x0, x1, · · · , xn) be a trajectory of f with xn ≤ x0 < x1 or x1 < x0 ≤ xn. Then there is a point v ∈ I such that min{x0, · · · , xn} < v = f(v) < max{x0, · · · , xn}. A point y ∈ I is called a centripetal point of f relative to v if y < f(y) < v or v < f(y) < y, and y is centrifugal if f(y) < y < v or v < y < f(y). In this paper we prove that if there exist k centripetal points of f in {x0, · · · , xn−1}, k ≥ 1, then f has periodic points of some odd (6= 1) period p ≤ (n−2)/k+2. In addition, we also prove that if (x0, x1, · · · , xn−1) is multi-separated by Fix(f), or there exists a centrifugal point of f in {x0, · · · , xn−1}, then f is turbulent and hence has periodic points of all periods.

Chronic illness and the life cycle: a conceptual framework.

This article provides a conceptual framework for thinking about the system created at the interface of chronic illness with the family life cycle. First, a psychosocial typology and time phases of illness schema is described as a necessary, preliminary step to create a common language that bridges the worlds of illness, individual, and family development. This schema organizes similarities and ...

Latency Compensation in Multi Chaotic Systems Using the Extended OGY Control Method

The problem discussed in this paper is the effect of latency time on the OGY chaos control methodology in multi chaotic systems. The Smith predictor, rhythmic and memory strategies are embedded in the OGY chaos control method to encounter loop latency. A comparison study is provided and the advantages of the Smith predictor approach are clearly evident from the closed loop responses. The comple...

Identification of multi-modal random variables through mixtures of polynomial chaos expansions

A methodology is introduced for the identification of a multi-modal real-valued random variable from a collection of samples. The random variable is seen as a finite mixture of uni-modal random variables. A functional representation of the random variable is used, which can be interpreted as a mixture of polynomial chaos expansions. After a suitable separation of samples into sets of uni-modal ...

AN IMPROVED CONTROLLED CHAOTIC NEURAL NETWORK FOR PATTERN RECOGNITION

A sigmoid function is necessary for creation a chaotic neural network (CNN). In this paper, a new function for CNN is proposed that it can increase the speed of convergence. In the proposed method, we use a novel signal for controlling chaos. Both the theory analysis and computer simulation results show that the performance of CNN can be improved remarkably by using our method. By means of this...

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems

Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...
